MEET BERNICE

Fresh Vision - Proven Leadership

Service has always been my starting point. From church pews to corporate boardrooms, I’ve led with integrity, faith and focus—and now, I’m ready to bring that same energy to Tuskegee City Council, District 2.

With more than 25 years of experience in leadership, advocacy and public service, I am stepping forward—not for a title, but for a mission. I believe Tuskegee is standing at a crossroads, and I am ready to lead with heart, faith and accountability.

I’ve spent my life answering the call to serve. From leading national civil rights work with the International Southern Christian Leadership Foundation to serving right here at home as Chairwoman of the Macon County Health Care Authority, my work has always centered on one principle: servant leadership. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-founded the Macon County Community Taskforce to respond to our community’s urgent needs. We came together—Tuskegee University, doctors, city leaders, nonprofits and neighbors—to keep our residents informed, safe and connected. That’s the kind of collaboration I will bring to city leadership every day.

As a longtime member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, my faith grounds everything I do. I’ve served in many roles—Drama Ministry, Sanctuary Choir President and Administrative Assistant to the Pastor—all while mentoring youth, supporting families and uplifting our elders. I carry that same spirit of service into this campaign and into my vision for District 2.

When  elected, my top priorities in the first 90 days will include conducting a comprehensive review of our district’s needs, launching monthly community meetings and completing councilmember certification to ensure I serve you with excellence.

I look forward to the weeks ahead of campaigning and working to earn your trust. I’m showing up—not just to ask for your vote, but to listen, to serve and to build with you. This isn’t just a campaign. This is a calling.

Together, we can bring fresh leadership, renewed hope and real progress to District 2. Let’s rise to this moment—together.
